冷军，中国当代著名艺术家，"超限绘画"代表人物。其作品以极高的写实精度、独特的视觉观察和深厚的绘画语言著称，在肖像、静物及当代写实绘画领域具有广泛影响，并长期致力于中西绘画传统与当代艺术语言的研究与探索。

冷军，1963年生于四川。1984年毕业于武汉师范学院汉口分院体育艺术系（部分履历简写为"艺术系"）。毕业后曾任教于武汉第二师范学校；1991年调入武汉画院，从事专业美术创作。其创作以油画为核心，并长期拓展场景写生、水墨、版画、陶瓷绘画等媒介，是中国当代写实油画与超写实绘画的重要代表人物。
冷军早期作品以工业文明、物质秩序及其精神后果为重要切入点，《世纪风景》《五角星》《文物——新产品设计》《突变》系列确立了其在中国当代写实油画中的辨识度；此后以《蒙娜丽莎——关于微笑的设计》《肖像之相——小唐》《肖像之相——小姜》等肖像作品，把直接写生、局部推进与整体控制推向极高密度。与此同时，他持续进行"场景写生"、水墨与瓷画创作，使其艺术不局限于单一的"照片式再现"。

Born in 1963 in Sichuan, Leng Jun graduated in 1984 from the Art Department of Hankou Branch, Wuhan Normal College. He first taught at Wuhan No.2 Normal School, then joined the Wuhan Academy of Painting in 1991 as a full-time artist. While oil painting is the core of his practice, he has long expanded into outdoor sketching, ink, printmaking and ceramic painting — a leading figure in Chinese contemporary realism and hyperrealism.
His early works engage industrial civilisation, material order and its spiritual consequences — the Century Landscape, Five-Pointed Star, Relic — New Product Design and Mutation series established his signature. Portraits such as Mona Lisa — Design of a Smile, Portrait — Xiao Tang and Portrait — Xiao Jiang pushed direct observation, incremental refinement and overall control to an extreme density, while his outdoor sketching, ink and ceramic works keep his art far from mere photographic reproduction.
